Nepali Army has contained multiple security incidents across the country, including attempted prison breaks and the recovery of weapons, amid ongoing curfew and prohibitory orders.
According to an official security update:
Saptari: A total of 192 inmates attempting to escape from Rajbiraj District Prison were brought under control by the Nepali Army. Seven prisoners fleeing toward India were intercepted by the Indian Border Security Force at Chandani, Kanchanpur, and handed over to Nepali authorities. One escapee was captured by locals and handed to the Area Police Office, while 12 inmates voluntarily returned to the prison.
Ramechhap: During unrest at the District Prison, where inmates demanded release, the Nepali Army reportedly opened fire to regain control. Officials confirmed that two prisoners were killed and 12 injured in the operation.
Kavrepalanchok: Army personnel safely disposed of a suspicious object found at Naya Basti, Banepa-9, preventing any potential harm.
The army has also reported the nationwide recovery of 94 assorted firearms during ongoing security operations.
