Tribhuvan University (TU) has announced sweeping suspensions of academic and examination activities in response to the developing complex situation across the country.
According to a series of urgent notices issued by the Office of the Registrar, the Office of the Controller of Examinations, and the Faculty of Management, TU has taken the following measures:
Closure of Classes: TU has declared a halt to all teaching and learning activities on September 14–17 and 25, with the days to be deducted from the upcoming winter vacation. Regular classes will resume from October 28.
Postponement of Exams: The TU Examination Controller’s Office in Balkhu stated that all three-year bachelor’s level third-year exams (partial and chance) scheduled to run from September 12 onward have been suspended until further notice. The decision was taken by the Central Examination Steering Committee on September 10.
Faculty of Management Exams: The Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Management announced that all semester-system exams at the bachelor’s, master’s, and MPhil levels have also been postponed. A new exam schedule will only be published after the second week of November, once the national situation stabilizes.
The notices further clarified that deadlines for exam form submissions for bachelor’s fourth and sixth semester will be rescheduled and announced later.
University officials have urged students and faculty members to remain patient as new academic and examination calendars will be adjusted in line with prevailing conditions.
