Renowned Nepali climber Jyamchang Bhote successfully reached the summit of Mt Everest on May 19, marking his ninth successful ascent of the world’s highest peak.
Widely recognized in the global mountaineering community as a capable and experienced guide, Bhote once again demonstrated his dedication not just to climbing but also to environmental advocacy.
To commemorate this historic achievement, Bhote unfurled a banner bearing the message “Grow Greenery, Save the Earth” at the summit. The initiative was supported by C.K. Research and Greenery Promotion Pvt. Ltd., aiming to raise awareness about environmental conservation from the top of the world.
By placing the environmentally themed flag atop Mt Everest, Bhote sought to spread a message of climate action, forest preservation, and greenery promotion on a global scale. His action aligns with the broader campaign slogan: “Our Campaign: Reforestation and Greenery Promotion,” according to Chhindum Bhote, Executive Chairperson of C.K. Research and Greenery Promotion Pvt. Ltd.
“This symbolic gesture will help raise awareness on climate change, forest protection, and environmental sustainability,” said Bhote. “Jyamchang Bhote’s achievement is a matter of national pride and sets a meaningful example in the realm of environmental advocacy.”
Jyamchang Bhote remains a respected name in Nepal and the international mountaineering world, and his latest climb further cements his legacy-both as a mountaineer and as an environmental ambassador, he added.
