PROTON Malaysia and Jagdamba Motors have deepened their partnership with the launch of the Proton e.MAS 7, Malaysia’s first locally developed electric vehicle, unveiled in Kathmandu by PROTON CEO Dr. Li Chunrong.

The e.MAS 7, developed in collaboration with Geely, blends advanced EV technology with design tailored for regional markets. It has already become Malaysia’s top-selling EV SUV and overall EV model as of July 2025.

Edmund Lim Meng Thong, CEO of Proton International, highlighted that Nepal is a key strategic market, with Jagdamba Motors as the sole authorized distributor since 2018. “Together, we have successfully brought the first Malaysian-made EV to Nepal, and we remain committed to long-term growth and comprehensive after-sales support,” he said.

Akhil Gupta, Executive Director of Jagdamba Motors, said the company plans to expand to 12 showrooms and service centers by end-2025 and will offer genuine spare parts, certified technicians, advanced diagnostics, and streamlined warranty support.

The Proton e.MAS 7 is now officially available in Nepal, marking a milestone in the country’s transition toward sustainable mobility.
