A library has been established in the Lokpriya secondary school at Khatyad Rural Municipality in Mugu district.This is the first library named as Mashta community library established in the district, it has been claimed. Lawmaker Ain Bahadur Shahi inaugurated the library amid a function. The library has been established on the initiatives of the local Mashta social workers’ youth club and with the assistance from organisations including Madhuban Publication, the Kathmandu Valley Public Library, and Sabalabung library, and other donors.So far, the library has got almost 2,400 books of various genres. Established in 2016 BS, the school has around 900 students.
On the occasion, lawmaker Shahi pledged his assistance to construct a separate building for the library and manage additional books.Similarly, other speakers, acting chairperson of the Rural Municipality Bharat Bahadur Shahi, members of the District Coordination Committee Karna Prasad Mathagai and Dhurba Bishwokarma, ward chair of Khatyad-7 Govinda Prasad Sanjyal, the school principal Tanka Prasad Sanjyal, the Club chair Nar Bahadur Raut and the campaign coordinator Tekendra Upadhyay urged one and all to provide assistances for the library.
